The Independents is an established ‘not-for-profit’ organisation that provides a centrally coordinated website, marketing experience and credibility to attract substantial visitor numbers (more than 400,000 in 2008) and provide press and media coverage for your exhibitions or events.
In 2008 the Independents showcased more than 1000 artists in 175 exhibitions and events across 92 locations in Liverpool and Merseyside.
In 2008 the Independents was truly international with exhibiting artists from 27 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Iceland, Germany, Italy, Japan and China. It attracted national and international coverage in TV, Radio, Press and Internet media and delivered outstanding success.
To register for the 2010 Independents there will be a fee as outlined below.
The fee will provide you with space on the Independents website in which an image, text and links to your own website and event/exhibition will be uploaded. Exhibition Venues will also be added to a map which details all Independents 2010 exhibitions for prospective visitors, press and media journalists to view or download.
After 2010 this will be archived and available for historic research.
The subscription will cover the administration costs in setting up and managing the website.
NOTE: The Independents is not a commissioning or curating organisation and we do not arrange exhibitions or venues. All curating, location finding, organisation and management of events is the responsibility of the artist, group or organisation.
